What To Do If It Rains During Your Session

Florida weather is unpredictable and constantly changing. Rain on one side of the beach and sunny skies on the other side.  But, what if it’s raining on the day of your session? And rescheduling is not an option?

wait it out

Wait as long as possible for deciding to cancel. Wait out the storm and be positive, kick back and relax until its over. Most of the time it clears up. And after the rain disappears, the golden light that shines through the storm clouds will look amazing in your photographs.

GO FOR IT

If you’re feeling brave and want your portrait in that location, just do it. Bring a towel and an umbrella and go for it. The dramatic skies will create a photograph you will not forget.  An unforgettable experience that will have you talking about it for years to come.

backup location

If you have to have the photoshoot that day be flexible.  Head indoors and take some pictures. Discuss with your photographer ahead of time to determine a backup location.  The location can be indoors or a place that has enough coverage to stay dry (big trees, exteriors of buildings, etc).

Reschedule

Lastly, if you’re not into getting rained on, the best option would be to reschedule. For some of us our idea of fun isn’t being dressed up and getting soaked with rain. Believe me your session will be better on a day without rain. Chat with your photographer and schedule a rain free day.

Interesting images can be created on rainy days. You can even capture a photograph of a certain emotion or expression that you wouldn’t get on a sunny day. As a result, you may even like rainy days from now on. So dance in the rain like no one is taking your picture!!!
